Professor Jennifer L. Stow

Jenny Stow is Lab Head, and a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Principal Research Fellow. She is also Deputy Director (Research) for the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) at The University of Queensland. After completing undergraduate and PhD studies at Monash University in Melbourne, Jenny pursued postdoctoral studies in the lab of Dr Marilyn Farquhar in the Department of cell Biology at Yale University School of Medicine, USA. She was subsequently appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Renal Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University, where she established an independent research group in cell biology. In 1994, Professor Stow moved back to Australia as a Wellcome Trust Senior International Medical Research Fellow, to join CMCB (now IMB) at The University of Queensland.

Dr. Adam Wall - Post Doc

Adam joined the Stow group in 2010 as a Research Officer after completing a PhD and postdoctoral work in the Physiology Department at the University of Melbourne. Adam uses high resolution live cell fluorescence imaging to investigate host-pathogen interactions and trafficking in macrophages.

Dr. Lin Luo - Post Doc

Hailing from a seaside town in China, Lin did his BSc (Hon) at Massey University in New Zealand.  Lin then moved to Oz for his doctoral training with Phil Robinson at Children’s Medical Research Institute in Sydney, and moved to Brisbane in 2011.  Lin’s expertise is deployed deciphering the network of endosomal recycling proteins in macrophages.

Mrs. Tatiana Khromykh - Senior Research Assistant

With a Bachelor degree in Physiology (Baccalaureate) from the University of Tomsk in the Russian Federation, Tatiana and her family moved to Australia in the 1980s. She joined Jenny’s group in 1997.

Mr. Darren Brown - Senior Research Assistant

Darren graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons, First Class, Anatomy) and has been working with Jenny since 1995 in microscopy and electron microscopy.

Mrs. Juliana Venturato - Senior Research Asistant

Juliana has a BSc (Hons) from The University of Queensland. She has worked in research groups at The University of Queensland Department of Pathology and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research before joining the Stow group in 1997.

Mr. Nicholas Condon - Research Assistant

Nick graduated with first class honours and a Deans Commendation for Achievement from the Stow lab in 2011 and currently works as a research assistant in the lab combining biochemistry, cell imaging, computational analysis, and animal models to answer specific research questions.

Mr. Jeremy Yeo - PhD Student

Jeremy graduated from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, with a Diploma in Biotechnology and obtained a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical science, Microbiology) and subsequently BSc (1st Class Honours) at the University of Queensland, Australia. He is now doing a PhD on host-pathogen interactions.

Mr. Kelvin Zewen Tuong - PhD Student

Zewen (Kelvin) completed a joint Honours project in the area of metabolism and inflammation in the Muscat and Stow labs, graduating with a BBiomedSc Honours Class 1 (Deans Commendation for High Achievement) at The University of Queensland in 2011. He also holds a Diploma in Biomedical Laboratory Technology (Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, 2007). He is now pursuing his studies as a PhD project.

Dr. Fiona Wylie - Senior Post Doc

Fiona graduated from QUT with a PhD in 1995 and has been working for Jenny for over 15 years. Fiona is a scientist and science writer extraordinaire and she currently  provides part-time administration and research support for the lab and students.
